How MOXI Works

MOXI Skin Treatment Process
Pre-Treatment Consultation and Preparation
We begin with a comprehensive consultation where our providers assess your skin concerns, medical history, and treatment goals. We take baseline photographs to track your progress and determine the optimal treatment parameters for your skin type and concerns.
On the day of treatment, we'll cleanse your skin and apply a topical numbing cream to ensure your comfort. This numbing process typically takes 30-45 minutes, allowing the anesthetic to take full effect before we begin the procedure. You can also add Pro-Nox gas for additional pain management without the need of a driver.
During treatment, you will be adequately numbed, positioned comfortably, and provided with protective eyewear. The MOXI handpiece will then be systematically moved across the treatment area, delivering precisely controlled laser pulses. Our team monitors your comfort level and can adjust settings to ensure an optimal experience.
Post-Treatment Care and Healing Stages
During the first few days, you'll notice the formation of microscopic dark spots called "MENDS" or micro-coagulation zones where the laser was applied. Your skin may feel tight or warm to the touch. Days three through five, the mends will darken and create a temporary "sandpaper" texture on the skin's surface. Days five through seven, the darkened zones will begin to slough off naturally, revealing fresh, renewed skin underneath. Some patients experience light flaking or peeling during this phase.
After week one, skin tone and texture continue to improve. Throughout the healing process, it's crucial to keep your skin moisturized, use a broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen (SPF 30+), and avoid direct sun exposure. If desired, makeup can be applied 48 hours post-treatment.
